When I photographed this miniature dahlia in my garden, the petals looked as if nature had painted brushstrokes of contrasting shades of magenta and pink on the petals. I used a variety of digital painting techniques for the flower and background to create a painterly and artistic image to highlight this delicate flower’s beauty.
